HALE ~~ CANDIDATE FOR REEVE At the regular meeting of the Council of the Township of Terrace Bay on October 13th, 1976, J. (Curly) Hale declared his name as a candidate in the run for Reeve on December 6th. ; Present at the meeting were Reeve Roy Bray, Councillors J. Hale, C. Brassard, M. Helmink, J. Kennedy; Clerk Treasurer, W. Hanley and Secretary, M. Simmer. The meeting was chaired by Reeve Roy Bray. ' Accounts approved for payment were: Township Accounts: $302,686.87 Hydro Accounts: $19,249.09 Library Accounts: $1,705.53 Recreation Accounts: $10,885.05. It was moved by C. Brassard and seconded by M. Helmink that By-Law No. 286, a By-Law to appoint a Clerk-Co-Ordinator be read a first, second and third time and finally -passed. A motion was also passed to request Ontario Hydro to conduct a rate review for the Electrical Department. ' The estimate submitted by Kimberly-Clark to effect necessary repairs to the arena roof in the amount of $17,000.00 was accepted by Council. C. Brassard moved that Orton Monkman be hired .as Maintenance Care- taker with the Recreation Department according to the Union Contract, to replace Mr. Trimble. The motion was carried. G.J. Dupas was to be asked to settle the wage question put forth by the vending attendant regarding holiday time. Permission to £by the Legion Poppy Flag on the Mucicipal Flag Pole was granted. J. Kennedy took "the job of preparing the invitations for the annual Council Christmas party.
