Anyone who would be interested in participating is asked to please contact the Recreation Office at 825-3542. The ROLLER SKATING: It was the decision of the Recreation Com- mittee to cancel roller skating for the re- mainder of the season due to disciplinary pro- blems encountered with the programme. We apol -ogize to those who enjoyed the programme and abided by the rules. We expect that the pro- gramme will be attempted again in the future with a number of changes in the set-up. We would appreciate any constructive recommenda- tions for future roller skating programmes. SUMMER PROGRAMMES : This week marks the end of a number of our summer programmes (music, crafts, playground, swim lessons). We would like to thank all those involved (staff and participants) for making the programmes possible. Anyone with suggestions for fall or winter rogrammes- contact the Recreation Department. SWINE FLU VACCINATION A letter to Jack Stokes Dear Mr. Stokes: The Health Unit will be carrying out the Swine Flu vaccination programme throughout our area. This will include: - Thunder Bay City and the area to the south and west in Thunder Bay district - Nipigon - Red Rock - Schreiber - Terrace Bay - Marathon - Manitou- wadge - Caramat - Hillsport - Geraldton - Longlac - Nakina - MacDiarmid - Beardmore. I have not made detailed plans and will begin to do so next week after a meeting in Toronto which will, I hope, give us a more concrete time for arrival of vaccines, etc. Our staff are gearing up and we will have the use of a new immunization gun that will be capable of doing 500-750 doses/hour which will be a help with over 73,000 doses antici- pated in this Health Unit area. I hope to consult in the near future with Indian Health Services and Northern Ontario Public Health Services to make sure our plans will be coordinated. We plan closer to the beginning &6f the pro --gramme to blanket the media with information regarding the vaccine, those eligible and the Contd ba, 6... : REGISTRATION ST.
