On July 17th a public draw was held at the Terrace Bay High School for che disposition of twenty-one remote sites. The draw was attend- \ id ed by approximately seventy eligible appli=.: cants, which indicates a high interest in this type of recreational land use. District staff are presently engaged in preparing. plans for a number of remote cottage lots, in the Man- itouwadge area, which will be made available this fall. We also intend to make additional remote lots available in the North Shore area next spring. : Planning for the proposed summer resort subdivisions on Santoy Lake and Wabiloba Lake is progressing well. If boundary surveys are carried on time, we will be making these lots available in the fall by public draw. The=~ dates for the public draw will be advertised in the local newspapers. For further informa- tion on our cottaging program please contact the Lands and Parks Supervisor at Terrace Bay or the Fire Control Supervisor at Manitouwadge. Lh a ed en sunday, July 15th showed a very enjoyable evening to a great audience who came out to || see Columbia's recording artists, "Bond". .The | band consisting of five members and a three 1 man road crew are from Toronto and performed i songs from David Bowies' FAME to-hits of their own, such as "Time" and "Back Seat Driver" to name a few. As the band ended the evening by playing a medley from the rock opera "Tommy", the audience brought them back for an encore, by use of shouts, cheers, etc. On behalf of | everyone present, Deb Vienneau, who brought | the band in, thanked them for a fantastic performance. 3 Special thanks to everyone who helped in any way.
