JUNE 16, 1976 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 17 Mrs. Anne Todesco presided for the regular June meeting of the Schreiber Women's Instit- ute with members answering the roll call by naming some most useful electric appliances. The meeting motto was "Be patient with the faults of others as they have to be patient with you". During the current 'events' 'discussion they talked of the opening of the Sewage Disposal plant in town, the success of local athletes in various sports. J Mrs. Annie Niemi reported sending cards locally for various occasions. A letter of appreciation was received for donations made to the Cancer Cupboard. Mrs. Joe Campbell reported on the recent district meeting when Mrs. Todesco was elected first vice president and Mrs. Wesley Clemens, Convener of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The next district meeting in 1977 in May will be held in Schreiber. Mrs. Clemens read the roster of officers elected for the coming year. ; A donation was sent to the Helen McKercher Scholarship Fund which is to honour Miss Mc- Kerchen on her retirement after many years service in the Home Economics Department. Members presented recipes, pictures and other items to Mrs. Campbell who is compiling a Bride's Book for a local bride. Program books will be distributed to mem- bers during the summer months. It was decided to give a monetary scholar- ship to a grade 8 student in the Lake Superior Public School. A pot lunch followed the meeting. Ruby Lodge 279 held their regular Resting on Wednesday, June 9 with Mrs. N. Fummerton N.G. and Mrs. G. Davis V.G. presiding. Mrs. Bern Whent recently returned from Florida was welcomed as a visitor. Mrs. G. Davis for the Sick and Visiting Committee reported sending a gift and get well card to Mrs. Inez McKevitt. The United Nations Bus Tour No. 24 will be in Schreiber on Wednesday, July 16 when Ruby Lodge will provide a luncheon at 11 a.m. Mrs. H. Wallace and Mrs. Beth Macadam will Co-con- vene this event assisted by Mesdames E. Harness F. Fischer, M. Slate?, A. Sparkes, V. Winters and A. Niemi. Mrs. G. Tax Payers, this is Your Money, the nets are worth two hundred dollars. If you know of anyone who did it, we would keep this in strict confidence and bill the parents of the.guilty parties. If it continues the courts will be closed. The Tennis Court Supervisors are Jim Wilson and Shirly Ross, and their hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the weekends until school is out. : No players are allowed on the courts without a Tennis Membership. The dues are Juniors up to 16 - $3.00 and Seniors 16 and over - $10.00 and Family Memberships - $15.00. The Recreat- ion Committee will also be supervising the courts.
