LAKE SUPERIOR BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING The Lake Superior Board of Education Meet- ing No. 5/76 was held on Wednesday, April 21, 1976, at Marathon High School. The Minutes of Meeting No. 4/76 held on March 15, 1976 were approved and the disburse- ments for March were $541,218.51. The following staff resignations were re- ceived with regret: Miss Janet MacGlashan, Manitouwadge Public School; Mr. Donald Karn, Marathon Public School; Miss Margaret Blizni- kas, Marathon High School; Mr. Robert Thomson, Lake Superior High School; Mr. B. Heaton, Manitouwadge High School. Mr. J. Roberts has joined the Staff of Mar- athon Public School on a temporary basis and Miss Marty Martin has similarily joined the- staff of the High School in Manitouwadge. Mr. Kirkpatrick the Chairman of the Modif- ied School Year Committee presented a proposed calendar for 1976-77. There will be 196 school days in 1976-77. Eleven of these will be devoted to Professional Development and other Professional Activities for Staff. A copy of the calendar will be distributed to teachers, students and pazents later in the year. Arrangements for the Official Opening of the new wing of the Marathon Public School were discussed and approved. A group of Grade 8 students from Manitou- wadge Public School are going to Toronto and Ottawa during the period May 8 - 17. Their trip was approved.
