Board held its Fourth Regular Meeting at St. Edward's School in Nipigon on April 24, 1976. Teachers from both St. Edward's and St. Hilar- y's Schools were in attendance as were some of the local school supporters. Teachers and trustees exchanged views over lunch. In formal session, the Board considered the question of relocation of the Board offices 'which are currently at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay. After some discussion, the fol- lowing motions were passed: - That the North of Superior District R.C. S.S. Board locate its administrative offices in the Schreiber-Terrace Bay area. : -. That January 31, 1977 be set as a target date for relocation, with provision for an ex- tension of this date to August 31, 1977 if necessary. Relocation will require the Director of Ed- ucation, Mr. P. Gillen, the Superintendent of Business, Mr. J. Courtney, and Mr. R. Jones, Accountant, to move their families into the area. Secretarial staff for the office will be hired locally. It is anticipated that the move will reduce administrative costs in such areas as transpor --tation, telephone, office accommodation, etc. It is also anticipated that offices within the jurisdiction will provide a more efficient service for the schools. i . .Inwother business, the Board: 1) Approved policies regarding the early dis- missal of schools and the custodial require- ments of schools. 2) Established a resource position in the area of psychological services. 3) Approved the acceptance of Frank Cowan In- surance Company's insurance proposal for the school buildings. 4) Accepted with regret the resignation of the following teachers: Sister Gaye White, Princi- pal of st. Hilary's School, Red Rock; Miss Jeannine Pineau, St. Hilary's School, Red Rock; Mr. Jocelyne Matharu, % time St. Edward's & L time St. Hilary's; Mrs. Irene Saumur, Our Lady of Lourdes School, Manitouwadge. 5) Appointed Mr. R. Chahley, Red Rock, to re- place Mr. R. O'Connor as the separate school representative on the Nipigon-Red Rock Board of Education.
