WEEKS: RE: BUDGET The 1976 Budget for the Lake Superior Board of Education represents an overall 12.7% increase over last years fiscal spending from 3.67 million to 4.14 million. The net result of this increase to the av- erage school residential tax payer is a 13.6% increase in taxes which on an assessment of $15,000.00 means the education portion of his tax bill would rise from approximately $331.00 to $376.00 in 1976. This increase in the re- sidential mill rate of 3 mills. The province has reduced its proportional share of total educations costs for 1976 by approximately 4% from 1975 to a 1976 share of approximately 54.8% of total spending. To ease the additional burden of cost in- creases that this places on the tax payer, the 1976 provisions for capital and working funds were cut to half of the 1975 amounts and capital spending was reduced. No programs have been cut and no reduction in teaching . staff was necessary. ROSS AGUASABON GOLF CLUB NEWS Just a short note to remind all golfers that the Golf course is now in operation.
