It is the councils intention to proceed with cost estimates for the Peary & Langworthy St. lines, abutting property owners will be informed, and if objections are filed, it will then ke necessary to have the Ontario Municipal Board conduct a hearing. The Ministry of the Environment has also informed Council that the gargabe collection contractors, for both Schreiber and Terrace Bay are not living up to Environment standards at the Sanitary Landfill Site. Council will take immediate action to correct the situa- tion. By-Law 584, which rescinds By-Law 329 and 546, and prohibits the keeping of certain an-. imals and fowl in the Township as passed. Supplementary budget to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications was set at $223,560 and covers roads, paving, drainage and sumps. This is subject to MTC approval. A resolution was passed to request a soil and paving survey test from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Council wishes to proceed with the forma- tion of a cemetery board, and will investigate the possibility of building a vault at the cemetery. General accounts to the amount of $9,372.88 were passed for payment. Council has requested quotations from three engineering firms to make a structural. and safety inspection of the Citizens Rink, as required by the Ministry of Labour. The selection of a firm is under consideration. The lease of land from Marathon Realty for the 'Fire Hall was renewed at $100.00 per year. SCHREIBER ART _CLUB_MEETING Mrs. Simone Bourgeois, president, was in charge of the Schreiber Art Club meeting on April 5, when correspondence On summer Courses in various parts of Ontario were discussed. Guttorn Otto, of Toronto, will instruct a course being given in Quetico April 9 - 14. Mrs. Helen Strickland will be in Schreiber instructing in a course sponsored by Confed- eration College. This eight week course be- gins April 20, Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. and April 21, Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The registration date is to be announced lat- er. Plans were made for the annual Art Show to be held June 5 and 6. . Non-members will pay $5.00 to exhibit their work. For the fourth year the Ministry will un- dertake the program, with 120 university bus- iness administration students supplying coun- selling services to small businesses from May through August. : Counselling by the graduate students covers such areas as cash management and financial planning, bookkeeping systems, production sch- eduling and cost control, marketing and mar- keting research, distribution and promotion.
