PAGE I4 TERRACE BAY NEWS APRIL 7, 1976 CHESTER BAILLIE RETIRES FROM CP RAIL Chester MacMillan Baillie, after a car- . eer with CP Rail for over 47 years worked i his last day on March 4, 1976. He officially retires effective May i 1, 1976. 4 Chester, who began his services in the employ of the Dominion Atlantic Railway as a " Clerk-Steno in 1928 travelled extensively from St. Johns, Nfld. . to Winnipeg and hand- led many positions in St. Johns, West St. John and Chapleau. On November 16, 1953 he trans- ferred to Schreiber as Superintendent's Sec- retary and was later promoted to Assistant Of- fice Manager, the position from which he re- tired. Mr. Baillie and his wife Stella plan to stay in Schreiber as they have their home here and a beautiful camp at Cavers and have no wish to leave their many friends. On his last day at work Chester and his wife were hosted at a buffet luncheon in the Superintendent's private rail car with his co- workers in attendance. At this time Mrs. Bai- llie was presented with a bouquet of roses by by Superintendent A.A. Small. Later in the day, a presentation was made to Mr. Baillie by Superintendent Small on behalf of his friends from CP Rail, of a portable radio and a road map covered in money as the Baillie's plan on doing a little travelling.
