MARCH "31, 1976 "TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 13 HOLY ANGELS C.W.L. MARCH MEETING The regular monthly meeting of Holy Angels C.W.L. was held Sunday, March 14. Mrs. H. McParland, president presided over the meeting Sister Marvel Belfry read an article on St. Joseph. The secretary, Mrs. Y. Henri, read the min- utes and various correspondence including a letter from Fr. 'Foley thanking the members for the donation to "Church To-day" T.V. program. Mrs. D. Connolly, treasurer gave her report. Fr. Meyer spoke on keeping spiritually fit as well as physically fit. The annual reports are to be forwarded to Mrs. John Power by March 31. Several members attended and took part in the annual World Day of Prayer held, March 5 in St. Andrew's United Church. Mrs. Y. Beaupartant agreed to head the Nom- ination Committee. A new slate of officers is to be presented at the next regular meeting. Ladies from the other church groups joined the members for a film on cancer. A delicious lunch was served. RUBY REBEKAH LODGE 279 MEETING Mrs. Norma Fummerton N.G. and Mrs. Georgina Davis V.G. presided for the meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge on March 24. Mrs. Eirene Harness gave the Semi Annual report of the Property Committee. Mrs. Clemens reported that the next C.P.T. Committee Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 4th at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. G. Hamilton, Mrs. Davis gave the Sick and Visiting re- port. A Penny Auction and Hamper Draw will be held on Friday, April 23 in place of the An- nual Spring Tea. A donation was made to the Ontario Research Committee. Mrs. Winnie* Clemens was named Representative to the Rebekah Assembly in June. Mrs. Norma Fummerton and Mrs. Myrtle Gordon were named representatives to the District Committee for the next term. : Ileene Williamson won the attendance prize. A penny auction and lunch was served foll- owing the meeting commemorating the Anniver- sary of Schuyler Colfax, founder of the Reb- ekah Degree. TERRACE BAY MINOR PEEWEES will be in Thunder Bay to participate in the Tom Thumb Tournament this coming weekend, with the first game Friday, April 2nd at 4 p.m. in the Delaney Ar- ena. They are sponsored by Peterson Electric. urling omments On Saturday, April I7th, a new and excit- ing type of Fun-spiel will be held at the Curling Club. The "League of Nations Mini Fun-spiel" will be held on the above-mentioned date and will be open to members and guests, curlers and non-curlers. The stipulation for entering a rink is as follows: "any combina- tion of your ethnic origin may be made to form your team". It is not necessary to have . two male and two female curlers. Any combin- ation will do (i.e., 4 male, 4 female; 3 male, I female, etc.) Entry fee is $8.00 per rink, which includes a pot-luck supper to be held Saturday night at II:30. Each team is encouraged to bring their favourite dish for the pot-luck supper (one dish per team, not per player). At the time of this write-up, 5 teams have already entered the bonspiel. The bonspiel will be limited to I6 rinks. You can enter as a rink or as an individual player at the Curling Club or call Bonspiel Chairman, John Luomala. The third for the team Italia rink, Joe Commisso is quoted as saying that "there should be no problem for the team Italia rink to win the bonspiel". Trophies and cash prizes for winning teams, as well as prizes for the best-dressed rink, will be awarded. A reminder to all curlers in the Men's Club that the annual meeting will be held on Thursday, April 8th, at 7 p.m. in the Curling Lounge. All curlers should make an effort to attend this all-important meeting. A reminder to all curlers that the Curling Club wind-up will be held on Saturday, May 8 at the Moose Hall. Details regarding prices, tickets, etc., will be posted on the Curling Lounge bulletin board. Music for this func- tion will be supplied by "WILD AFFAIR".
