Kennedy chaired the meeting. The meeting opened with League Prayers and a hear- ty welcome was extended to all present from the president. A thank you letter was read by Mrs. G. Ram- say from Birchwood Terrace thanking the League for their generous donation to the residents. The donation will be used for purchasing tapes for the home. An invitation was extended from the Right to Life Association of Thunder Bay and Area for ladies to attend a Respect for Human Life Seminar, on February 28th, Shuniah Building, Ryan Hall, Thunder Bay. Guest Speakers will be Gwen Landolt, and Dr. L.L. de Veber. Gwen Landolt is the founder and first president, of the Right to Life Association of Toronto and Area. She is currently president of the nat- ional pro-life organization Alliance for Life. She is an accomplished speaker and as an author she has contributed to the book, "Death Before Birch." Dr. L.L. de Veber, past president of Alli- ance for Life, is a London pediatrician: who has treated the unborn baby as a patient in giving prenatal transfusions because of the RH factor. Dr. de Veber believes that what is now happening to newborn defective babies is an extension of abortion-on-demand, and may very well extend to the handicapped and the aged in the future. Mrs. Kennedy announced that the Parish Soc- . ial, which was to be held on February I4th was cancelled. Mrs. F. Roen will represent the C.W.L. at the Winter Carnival Planning Committee. The Terrace Bay Winter Carnival will be held on March II-I2-I3-I4 with a full schedule of even- ts for both young and old. If any members are interested in getting involved in either pro- ject planning or helping out on some committee get in touch with Mrs. J. Kennedy. March 5th is set aside as World Day of Pray- er. Christian women of Latin America, who have prepared the World Day of Prayer Service for I976 on the theme "EDUCATION - FOR ALL OF LIFE" call their sisters and brothers throughout the world to join in celebration and prayer on this date. The C.W.L. of St. Martin of Tours Parish is hosting this World Day of Prayer, to begin at 2 p.m. at St. Martin's Church. Our guests will be the Ladies Auxiliary from the Commun- ity Church. All parishioners are invited to attend. Mary-Clare is looking for some vol- unteers who are interested to help out in planning this programme or assisting in any way. Please give her a call. Part of the proceeds of the Penny Auction will go towards a Bursary Fund set aside, for the education of 'a priest. ° Mrs. G. Dashkewytch led in a one minute silence for our late Bishop Gallagher. The meeting adjourned, closing prayers were said and the singing of "Holy God We Praise Thy Name" and "O Canada" were sung. Lunch was served. CONFEDERATION COLLEGE CARAVAN The Confederation College Caravan will be visiting Nipigon-Red Rock, Schreiber, Terrace Bay, Marathon and Manitouwadge in the next few weeks. The public, students and parents are invit- ed to inspect the caravan and become familiar with the educational information. The caravan will be at Terrace Bay High School on February I9 & 20th and at Schreiber High School on February I8th, I976.
