JANUARY 28, 1976 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 3 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING, Cont'd.... Discussion took place concerning trips in- volving students and teachers but not sponsor- ed by the Board. It was felt that guidelines for such non-sponsored trips which involve Board employees should be laid down. The Annual Quebec Carnival Tour for fifteen senior French students of Manitouwadge High School was approved. Students will leave Man- itouwadge on Feb. 2nd and return on Feb. 8. A report from Mr. Pappas concerning prob- lems in the new addition in the Marathon Pub- lic School was distributed. The Business Administrator reported that he had been in touch with the architect and that a' plumber was now dealing with the problems. Mr. Tal- arico indicated that he too had been looking into these problems, and he suggested that an outside plumber be present.on the site while the source of the existing problem was being traced. The Board decided to pay an individual to supervise the inspection of the plumbing at the Marathon Elementary School and report on the cause of the problem on Jan. 20 at the discretion of Mr. D. Talarico. Mrs. M. Hamilton of Terrace Bay was appoint -ed to the Early School Leaving Committee for the year 1976. It was resolved that the Board go into a Committee of the Whole Board. The Committee of the Whole Board reported: A) the resignation of Mrs. V. Armstrong Part- time Secretary, Manitouwadge High School, accepted with regret, effective Jan. 31, 1976. B) the appointment of Mrs. Georgette Sheridan as Receptionist - Clerk- -Typist, at salary according to schedule, effective Jan. 12. C) the appointment of Mrs. Marion Milnes as Attendance Counsellor for Manitouwadge, at salary according to schedule, effective Jan. 5; 1976.
