PAGE 18 TERRACE BAY NEWS DECEMBER 10, 1975 LEGION AUXILIARY BR. 109 MEETING oe Se ------------ -- ---- -- ------ ------ The members of the ladies auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 109 at their regular meeting on December 2 most definit- ely were opposed to a suggestion that Re- membrance Day be changed to a May or June date in hope of more clement weather. They agreed that because of this year's dilemma in the non arrival of the wreaths, they would place theirs in a ceremony arranged later for that purpose. The slate of new officers was announced: Lorraine Huard, president; Georgina Davis, 'first vice president; Avila Richardson, se- cond vice president and Rena Ross, treasur- er. The secretary is appointed by the president. Christine reported there is now only one unpaid member. Wendy Morris agreed to de- corate the Legion for Christmas events. Ethel Nesbitt reported a successful Poppy Day canvas and volunteered to convene the event next year. It was agreed to purchase more china roses for presentation to sick members in- stead of the customary rose bowl. A Christmas hamper will be started imme- diately for a sick member.
