DECEMBER 3, 1975 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 3 / PINEWOOD COURT MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Board of Manage- ment of the District of Thunder Bay Homes for the Aged was held at Pinewood Court on Octob- er 31, 1975 at 12:00 noon with six Board mem- bers in attendance. Operating accounts were approved for Pine- wood Court and Birchwood Terrace totalling $102,000.00 for the month of September. The Board approved the admission of four residents for Birchwood Terrace. Authorization by the Board for a sign to. be constructed was also bag Sed subject to approval of the Ministry. Hair cuts and hairdressing rates at Birch- wo- od Terrace will be changed effective Novem- cr 1, 1975. The residents will be paying. the .dded cost. : The Board accepted the two cent per gallon reduction in the cost for fuel oil delivered to' Birchwood Terrace for the period October 1, 1975 to December 31, 1975 and they authorized the Administrator to call for tenders for the period January 1, 1976 to December 31, 1976. The Board was informed that the addition to the dining room at Pinewood Court was held up by a beam that is in transit from Saskatchewan. The Architect will inform the Administrator as soon as it has arrived in town. The Ministry of Transportation will be in- vited to speak to the residents of Birchwood Terrace especially, about safety in crossing the highway. The Board is especially concern- ed about the residents crossing the highway particularly, when the school guard who has been assisting the residents is not present. The Ministry reported that this crossing is already signed a school crossing. However, these signs are removed during the summer hol- --idays and this is when the traffic is heavy. The administration staff are looking at a bookkeeping machine that will speed up the payroll and accounting process. These machin- es are available on an outright purchase or a lease basis. The Administrator was authoriz- ed to do a detailed study to see if any sav- ings can be made in this area. The next Board meeting will be held at Birchwood Terrace on November 28, 1975 at noon] MOOSE BINGO The Loyal Order of Moose will sponsor a Bingo on Thursday, December 4th at 8:00 p.m. in the Moose Hall, Terrace Bay. Bus leaves Schreiber Post Office at RECREATION DEPARTMENT WEEKLY REPORT HOCKEY - NO BODY CONTACT - PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULE : There will be a public meeting held on Wednesday, December 3rd, in the Conference Room of the Recreation Centre. The meeting will commence at 6:30 p.m. Attendance at this this meeting is very important so if you are interested in this program be sure to attend. BADMINTON CLINIC IN TERRACE BAY: There will be a badminton clinic held Wednesday, Dec. 10th at the Terrace Bay High School Gym. This is provided free of charge to the public. «Anyone interested in this clinic please contact the Recreation Office at 3542 before Friday, Dec. 5th. NORTH SHORE MINOR HOCKEY: The North Shore Minor Hockey Schedule has not yet arrived, however once schedules have been received home games will be published in the arena schedule. The Terrace Bay Min- or Hockey Association will have midgets, bantams, peewees, and minor peewees compet--- ing.
