It was "The Brownie Story" and was read by Brown Owl, Marilyn Sar- anpaa. Around the Toadstool each tweenie was en- rolled by Brown Owl Saranpaa, assisted by Taw- xford. After the excitement was over 6 Brownies made tea and toast for all the adults, this being one of their tests. Cinnamon toast was on the menu and the service was good. Marilyn invited everyone to join in Action Songs for Pow-Wow time. It was noticed that the parents had as much fun as the children. The Leaders thanked the parents for coming. i TERRACE BAY COUNCIL QUOTES Carl Gorham, a resident of Terrace Bay, met with members of Township Council at their regular meeting on Wednesday, November I2tHh. Mr. Gorham stated he was there strictly as a citizen of Terrace Bay and not representing any organization, to have Council initiate a feasibility study into having the swimming pool 'enclosed. ; The building of a new hospital is the main objective of the town at present and in no way is this suggestion meant to dilute these efforts. Terrace Bay is suffering growing pains and this age old question of a swim pool enclosure could become a reality with grants now available. He felt this project would require the strong leadership of this Council. Mr. Gor- ham was thanked for coming to the meeting and presenting his interests. Later in the meeting Council discussed this matter and it was brought forth that the Recreation Centre does have some information on grants and a cost estimate that was taken in I972 is available. Councillor Hale volun- teered to check deeper into this matter. The minutes of the previous regular meet- ing were adopted. Business arising from the- se minutes dealt with the condition of the landfill site; confirmation of registration for Constable Mason to take a Breathalizer Course and the kitchen equipment which was to be purchased from W. Moon no longer being available. The Recreation Centre's tape recorder will be used by the Police Department on a trial basis and if it proves adequate for their needs it will be purchased. continued page 2
