I8 NO. 45 NOVEMBER I2, I975 20¢ PER COPY HOSPITAL HIGHLIGHTS The October meeting of the McCausland Hos- pital Board of Governors was Tuesday the 2I, I975 at the Terrace Bay High School Campus. The following items of interest were brought before the Board. Mrs. B. Strasser was welcomed to the hospi=- | tal staff as Assistant Medical Laboratory and X-Ray Technician. Mrs. Strasser has just com- pbleted a two week refresher course at the Port Arthur General Hospital. Patients and visitors using the parking lot at the hospital will notice new signs that have been posted. There are still a few more to come. Mrs. R. McAdam and Mrs. M. Puttock were ap- pointed delegates to the Ontario Hospital Ass- ociation Convention held in Toronto, October 27 - 29. Mr. Stockwell of the Ambulance Service Branch, met with Mrs. McAdam, Mrs. Bichan Mrs. King to discuss ambulance service in our area. Mr. Stockwell will come again when it is convenient for the Doctors to meet with him. After this. next meeting we shall have importa- nt information for you regarding the use of the ambulance service. In the meantime if you think someone is in need of an ambulance ' please phone the doctor first. Following D. Adey's resignation as Chief of Medical Staff, Dr. Brian Croll is now fill- ing this position. Dr. Adey will continue as a member of the medical staff and the Develop- ment Committee. Mrs. J. McEwen showed the Board a tentative site plan drawn up by Mr. Petersmeyer, Archi- tect. This plan is being carefully evaluated by the Development Committee, Doctors and nur- ses. and continued page IO ELECTION OF TRUSTEES TO .THE NORTH OF SUPERIOR R.C.S.S. BOARD IN I975 December 8, I975 will be election day in Schreiber and Terrace Bay for the purpose of | electing I and 2 trustees respectively to the new North of Superior R.C.S.S. Board. This election culminates a long period of investi- | gation and study into the feasibility of an expanded separate school system in Northwest- ern Ontario. The merger will be effective January I, I976, and will include the following commun- ities as partners in this combining of boards: Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Nipigon, Red Rock, Nakina, Manitouwadge. The new board will be composed of nine trustees, of which I from Schreiber and 2 from Terrace Bay will be elected. The distribution was made by a committee established for this purpose using a formula of equalized assess-- ment. This was done in accordance with pro- visions of The Education Act, I974. Nomination days in Schreiber-Terrace Bay are to be November I3th to I7th, inclusive, excluding Sunday. Persons interested may secure the proper forms from the town clerk's office and ask about the requirements to be met in submitt- ing a proper nomination form. Nomination form must be supported with signatures of ten Roman Catholic school electors. Any Roman Catholic school supporter, I8 years of age or over, a Canadian citizen resident within the area of jurisdiction of the Board and not an employee of the Board, is qualified to be elected a member. A person is not qualified to be elected who is a member of any other board or member of council as defined in The Municipal Affairs Act. continued page 2 .... a.
