PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 8, I975 TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT During the week September 29th to October 5th members of the Terrace Bay Police Depart- ment investigated a total of 27 occurrences. September 30th - A Break, Enter and Theft was reported at a local residence where a num- ber of fire arms were stolen. October 2nd - damage to the value of $600. was caused to the windows of Cebrario's Hard- ware. A local man has been charged with this offence. October 3rd - As a result of an accident on Highway 17 a local man was charged with careless driving. October 4th - damage was caused by a motor vehicle to the lawns at the Recreation Centre, Birchwood Terrace and the Golf Course. Seven motor vehicles were safety checked and four warnings issued. Three charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act and two charges under the Liquor Control Act. COURT NEWS October 2nd Judge Duthie presided over Provincial Court at Terrace Bay. Garnet Pinkerton pleaded guilty to impaired driving, was fined $160. and his licence sus- pended. Pekka Tuhkanen pleaded guilty to impaired driving. He was sentenced to fourteen days imprisonment and his driving licence was sus- pended for two years. David Helmink, Phillip Meister and Richard Hamilton were all remanded to October 30th for trial on impaired driving charges.
