OCTOBER 8, 1975 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 15 WILSON: The death of Mrs. Hilda Wilson occurred in the hospital on September 27th following a long illness. Her funeral was conducted in St. Andrew's United Church on September by the Reverend C. c.B. Graham of Marathon and was preceded by the burial rites of Ruby Rebekah Lodge #279, in the King Funeral Home. The honorary pall bearers were Denny Neylon Frank Driscoll, W.A. Mullins, Walter Ballard, John Gagnon and Mervyn Perrault. Active pall- bearers were Terence O'Driscoll, Gerald Thro- wer ,-Desmond O'Driscoll, Kevin O'Brien, Jack Anderson and Robert Weaver. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. . Mrs. Wilson's immediate survivors are her two sons, D'Arcy of Kenora and Lorne of Sch- reiber; two brothers, W.E. (Bill) D'Arcy of Schreiber and Earl D'Arcy of Toronto; two sis- ters, Evelyn (Mrs. Carl Palmer) of Etobicoke and Miss Mildred D'Arcy of Schreiber. She was predeceased by her father, Iva D'Arcy in 1951 and her mother in 1972. She was also predeceased by her husband, Donald in 1973. Mrs. Wilson, nee Hilda Belle D'Arcy was a pioneer citizen of Schreiber, brought here by her parents in 1906 from Fostoria, Michigan when she was 6 months old and had lived here ever since. A devoted and loving mother, Mrs. Wilson's chief interest had always been in her family and home. Attending the service from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. D'Arcy Wilson with sons Roger and Tim of Kenora; Mrs. Carl Palmer of Etobicoke; and Mr. and Mrs. Earl D'Arcy of Toronto. Also attending were many local friends. RUBY REBEKAH LODGE #278 Miss Helen Sheperd, President of the Reb- ekah Assembly of Ontario, paid her official visit to Ruby Rebekah Lodge on September 24th. The meeting was preceded by a dinner for 17 in the Mayfair Hotel. Mrs. Norma Fummerton, the incoming N.G. presided for the meeting. Miss Sheperd was formally escorted and in- troduced to the members by Mrs. Helen Wallace while Mrs. Mavis Slater, the P.P. of the Ass- embly was escorted and introduced by her hus- nd, Alvin Slater. The guard of honor, Mesdames Georgina Davis, leen Williamson, Gail Pollard and Miss Elma Haapa, held an arch of yellow roses under-whi- ch the guests passed to enter the Lodge room. Mrs. Slater gave the semi-annual report report of the June sessions of the Assembly in the absence of Mrs. Elizabeth Harris. the representative to it this year. Mrs. Fummerton presented the sick and visi- ting report. Miss Sheperd described her visits to other Lodges in the district and described her par- ticular project - the remodelling of the kit- chen in the Oddfellows and Rebekah Home in Barrie, Ontario. Mrs. Fummerton presented Miss Sheperd with a memento of her visit to Schreiber. Following the meeting Mrs. Florence Fisch- er's committee served lunch in the lower hall, the table centered with the 50th anniversary cake which was cut by the president. The cake was made and decorated by Mrs. Mary Fay Green. ROSSPORT SOCIAL SPECTRUM (continued) their cousin Mrs. Anne Todesco this week. The M. Cosseys of Chemaines, B.C. were here on a motor trip as well as R. Birckwells fam- ily of Dundas, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Felix Legault have returned from Fort Francis and the Lakehead. Mr. and Mrs. L. Combs of Indianhead Park, 'Ill. were here this week on a fishing trip. Mrs. Anne Todesco attended the Senior Cit- izens Alliance for North West Ontario organ=- ization meeting at Nipigon, Monday. Walter Schroeder is home from Halifax on a holiday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Schroeder.
