PAGE © TERRACE BAY NEWS SEPTEMBER 24, 1975 TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT During the period September 15th to 21st a total of 250 occurences were investigated. September 15th - A break, enter and theft was repeated at Moon's Service station. It is not known at this time what was stolen. September 16th = A collision occurred on Selkirk Avenue. Damage was slight and no in- juries were sustained. September 20th - Two charges of impaired driving were laid against a local person and one person from Manitouwadge. Complaints were received regarding the driving habits of some persons which resulted "in three charges being 1#id under the Highway Traffic Act for squea- ling tires. One charge was laid for operating a motor vehicle on a sidewalk and two charges were laid under the Liguor Control Act. Nine motor vehicles were safety checked with seven warnings being issued. We would like to extend a welcome to John Murray who commenced duty last Sunday. John has a number of years experience with the Met- ropolitan Toronto Police Department. He is ma- rried with one child. RECREATION DEPARTMENT WEEKLY REPORT ART CLUB NEWS - Everyone interested in any of the aspects of painting are welcome to attend the first session of the Fall season on Octob- er 2nd, 1975, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Recreation Centre. Newcomers to town - budding young artists - old-timers -- are all invited to join in and make their desires and interests known. Keep this date open and plan to attend MINOR HOCKEY - ANNUAL MEETING - A reminder that] the annual meeting of the Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Association will be held on Wednesday, September 24th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Recreation Centre. It is extreme- ly important that anyone interested in helping out in the Minor Hockey 'programme this year attend this meeting. Poor attendance will re- sult in the cancellation of the Minor Hockey programme this year. JUNIOR BADMINTON PROGRAMME - The Terrace Bay Recreation Department will again be sponsoring a Junior Badminton programme for Grade 7 and 8 students this season. Forms have been distri- buted to the schools and all details of the programme are outlined on the form. The first session will be held this Saturday, September 27th, at the Terrace Bay High School.
