PAGE 6 TERRACE BAY NEWS SEPTEMBER 10, 1975 HOMES FOR THE AGED MEETING The Thunder Bay District Home for the Aged monthly Board meeting was held Friday, August 29, 1975 at Birchwood Terrace with all seven Board members in attendance. July accounts totalling $91,297.02 were ap- proved by the Board. Four resident approvals for Pinewood Court and two for Birchwood Ter- race were also approved. The Administrator in=- formed the Board that there were many inquir- ies from potential residents received during the past month, The Board received an Admission Policy Statement from the Ministry signed by the Chief of Physicians, Dr. McKillop. The policy is 'much the same as the Board and admission team have followed, however, it does cover in great- er detail reasoning for the guidelines, and is welcomed by the Board. The policy statement will be sent to Home physicians, social workers and all sixteen municipal councils for guidance in working with senior citizens in the District The newly formed District Health Council is requesting information in relation to the health care beds in the District. The Adminis- trator will prepare a submission with data pertaining to our present role and also, fu= ture plans of the Board. ? The Board reviewed fifteen resolutions to be presented at the Homes for the Aged Con- vention in September. Delegates will use their own judgement on how they vote after listening to the speakers on each resolution. The next meeting will be held at Pinewood Court on September 26, 1975 at ¥2:00 noon.
