Meyer, in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, Schreiber on September 3rd. The pall bearers were Jody Davis, Stan Spad- oni, Bob Kinney, Norman Boon, Joe Figliomeni of Schreiber and William Scott of Red Rock. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mr. Tookenay's immediate survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tookenay of Schreiber two sisters Ethel, Mrs. Reino Ahola of St. Paul Minn.; Nancy, Mrs. Harley Harkes of Ledger- wood N. Dakota; three brothers, Joe of Nipigor. Vincent of Coon Rapids, Minn; and Marcell of Terrace, B.C. There are also many relations in the immediate Aistrict. Melvyn was born in White River, coming with his parents at an early age to Schreiber where he received his education and later was em- Ployed as a trainman with C.P. Rail for three years. He then worked in Labrador for two years before going to Thunder Bay where he was well known in sport circles, playing baseball and hockey with the Great Lakes and Westfort Hotel for three years. Negotiations broke off early in June when the Board of Education completely re- fused to meet because of summer holidays.
