I8 NO. 35 September 4, 1975 20¢ PER COPY TERRACE BAY RECREATION DEPARTMENT WEEKLY REPORT SWIM POOL SCHEDULE : - With both the July and August set of less- ons having now been completed, the pool sched- ule until closing for the season will be as follows: Monday to Friday Saturday & Sunday ~. 4.£0. 8 pil. r.2. to 5: p.m =. 6 t0. 8 pels Final day of swimming will be posted according- ly at the swim pool as our closing day is dep- endent on our weather conditions. The swim exams were concluded last week with a high percentage of successful candidat- es. Since there will be no awards night this year, badges may be picked up at the pool. There are a number of lifejackets left at the pool from the Survival class. We would appreciate the owners picking them up. Also any articles in the Lost and Found should be picked up soon or they will be sent to the needy. ARENA AND CURLING RINK: . The Recreation Department will not be book- vig any functions in the Curling Rink or Arena as both these facilities are presently being prepared for our winter season. Major renovations will be taking place in /'the Arena to accommodate the new tractor and ice resurfacer that will be used in our Arena this year. SPECIAL COURSES: At present the Recreation Department is off- ering an Art course through Confederation Coll~- ege. Instructor for this programme is Mrs. Helen Strickland. Anyone interested in regis- tering for this programme should call the Rec- reation Office at 3542 for details. The course F CONEINUEd DEJE 2 «vivo sans & TERRACE BAY COUNCIL QUOTES The regular meeting of Terrace Bay Town Council was held on Wednesday, August 27th in the council chambers with Councillors C. Brassard, J. Hale and P. Helmink acting as Reeve. Correspondence included: From M.O.E. - approvals for states 2, 3 and 4 re the new subdivision. From Ontario Hydro re access road to Aguasabon Generating station to be dedicated to the township. Resolutions for N/W Ontario Senior Citiz- ens Alliance were read. From the Ministry of Revenue re: rebate claim - sales tax totalling $I ,988.42. From C.K. Burgess re insurance require- ments of the Township. From area postmaster re box lobby hours. From Ministry of Housing re land assembly funds. From Fort Garry Industries re one-way plow for truck. Quote was accepted and equipment will be ordered. The Police Chief's report for July was read. Under new business Christmas decorations for Simcoe Plaza were discussed and two strings will be ordered. A proposed "help build your hospital day" as prepared by Miss Debbie Vienneau was read and approved by council.
