MARTIN SCHOOL GRADUATION A bevy of beautiful young ladies with long gowns and delightful smiles were escorted into the Church hall by their parents and handsome fellow students when I50 attended St. Martin Separate School grade eight graduation on June _ 24th. A delightful smorgasbord supper was held in the Parish Hall. Father greengrass said Grace. The dinner had been prepared by the grade seven mothers and convened by Mrs. Sheila Dakin. Special guests were introduced by Michael Anderson. They were formers teachers Mrs. Ruth Mitchell from Marathon, Mrs. Bernadette Thomp- son, Mrs. Gertrude Soughton and a past Princip- al Mr. Ray Kenney from Rossport. Greetings from Jack Stokes, M.L.A. and George Ramsey, Chairman of the Board who were unable to attend were given by Michael Anderson Awards and prizes were presented as follows: C.W.L. Graduation pins presented to each grad- uate by Mrs. Fern Luke. St. Martin School Proficiency Award present- ed by Michael Anderson to Patti Regis. Cald- er Memorial Award presented by Michael Anderson to Patti Regis. Legion Ladies' Auxiliary Improvement Award presented by Mrs. Dorothy Koski, President of the Auxiliary to Lois Caron. Knights of Columbus Improvement Award presen -ted to Vicky Colbey-Hara by Mel Nicol. 'History Award presented by Ed McAdam to Tom Fournier. : Geography Award presented by David Falzetta to Stephen Sechesky. Mathematics Award presented by Michael Ander -son to Judy Moher. French Award presented by Mme. Lee Cormier to Patrick Pineault. ; continued page 2 The regular meeting of the Board of Gover- nors of the McCausland Hospital was held July I5, I975 in the Schreiber High School Campus. The new Director of Nursing, Mrs. Joan Bichen informed the Administrator that she would be moving to Terrace Bay by the end of August. The Development Committee reported that the Ministry has approved our choice of Arch- itects, namely GBR Associates of Winnipeg, Man Mrs. Jan McEwen was designated as the con- .tact person between the Board and GBR Associ- ates. It was brought forward that fire extinguish -ers are needed for the doctors annex and should be ordered immediately. The laboratory is now ready to receive equipment. Dr. F.J. Lone, Chief Pathologist .at the Port Arthur General Hospital will be assisting in setting up the new lab. The new emergency room will be ready shortly for ful. use. In regards to the parking lot, the area be- hind the annex will be blocked off as it is a hazard at the present time. A letter was received from the Thunder Bay District Health Council notifying us of their priorities for this year. A letter was also received from the Ontario Hospital Association re the Presidential Tour to small hospitals in Northwestern Ontario to be in Terrace Bay on August I2, I975. Accounts Payable and payroll totalling $42,171.24 for the month of June was passed for payment. General Reports were given by the Presid- ent and Chief of the Medical Staff.
