This group are Capital recording artists on their way to a tour of the West. Their latest hits include "Dancin on a Saturday Night" and "When you're up, you're up" A record was won by Lori McBride for sing- ing with the band and by Michael Powers for being able to correctly name three members of the band. On behalf of everyone present Debbie Vienn- eau, who brought the band in, thanked them for the terrific performance. Special thanks to everyone who helped in any way. The band members are from Toronto. "Bond" played in Terrace Bay on Sunday, July CANADA DAY FESTIVITIES The Kinsmen of Terrace Bay were in charge of the Canada Day Celebrations in Terrace Bay. Races for all ages of children were enjoy- ed by all. A walking race for the Reeves endurance trophy was a big attraction as it was the fir- st time one has been tried. Everyone of all age groups set to complete the two mile walk (it as a one mile walk, but all those who walked guessed it closer to the two mile mark). The younger set sure started with a spirt of energy, and the middle-age and older groups plodded on with a look of determination on their faces. The senior citizens had competi- tion from abroad, Mrs. Sarah Jane Barnett, David Barnett's mother from Grimsby England here on a vacation joined in and completed the course in fine style with energy left as she crossed the finishing line. : Winners were Ist class - Michael Moher Ist; David Stortini 2nd; Randy Krystia 3rd. Class 2 - Ist Lorne Luhta; 2nd David Falzetta, 3rd Frank Barry. Class 3 - Ist David Barnett, 2nd Michael Anderson, 3rd Charles Wise. Cla- ss 3 women - Ist Pam Jones, 2nd Jean Marcella 3rd Sylvia McCullough. Class 4 - Ist Mrs. Sarha-Jane Barnett, 2nd Mrs. Hannah Klug. The last one in was George Nugent, who said he wasn't really but he felt like a senior citizen after carrying one toddler on his shoulders and pushing some-one's baby in a stroller for 3/4's of the way. A fancy dress parade was the thing looked forward to by the little ones, and many cute ideas were seen, as well as a good selection of "Miss Canada's'.
