More importantly, we hope to share with others the riches and insights that come from active involvement in community life. A culture must be shared with other people if it is to stay alive. It is by living our culture that we can really share this gift with other peoples and promote greater understanding among Canadians. The Ontario Ministry of Culture and Rec- reation has been established to promote and encourage cultural expression of all kinds and of all peoples in our province. We The Government of Ontario recognizes that the cultural traditions and heritages of its peoples are just as important as skills or education in building a better life. We know that it is people and not things that deter- mine a society's greatness and there is nothing more valuable to people than their culture.
