Mrs. Steve Brend entertained Saturday, January I5th in honour of her son Michael's sixth birthday. Charlie Sitch, Vice-President, presided over the regular monthly meeting of the Home and School Association, January 17th. Miss Cathy Smith and her pupils gave a demonstration of puppets and a show telling the story of the Three Bears and Red Riding Hood. President, Bob Hales announced mary worthy projects being undertaken by the Terrsce Bay Kiwanis Club to commemorste this anniversary in Terrace Bay. 5 YEARS AGO - JANUARY 22, 1970: CURLING NEWS: Congratulations to Len Crockford's rink with Norma Crockford, Bob Roberts and Liz Macleod on winning the O'Keefe Mixed at the club. Congratulations also to the Lou Duquette rink of Ken Johnson, Dan Kenney and Gary Gusul on winning the team playoffs this past weekend and allowing them to represent Terrace Bay in the Zone Playdowns in Manitouwadge. Congratulations to the Terrace Bay Ladies Curling Club Champions on winning the Zone Playdowns in Marathon. Rink consists of Peg Wellings, Ivy Pattison, Ida Romanuk, and Ann Latour. They will now go to Thunder Bay where they will play against other zone winners.
