From this point the toys will be distributed to children of the area at Christmas time. The Sunday School classes and members of both choirs were treated to a Christmas i luncheon following the Sunday morning service on December I5th. A rousing sing song of ; Christmas music, led by Mrs. M. McKague pre- ceeded the luncheon. The luncheon was given to the children by the Ladies Auxiliary of 3 the Church with Mrs. Leona Mercure convening. Christmas Eve services in the Terrace -Bay Community Church will be the Carols and Can- dles service at 7:30 p.m. led by both child- = ren's choirs under the direction of Mrs. Margaret McKague. Holy Communion will be celebrated at 11:30 p.m. SHEAF OF GRAIN A SCANDINAVIAN CUSTOM Scandinavian farmers traditionally practice the cus- tom of attaching a sheaf of grain to a pole and placing it out in the snow as a Christmas feast for birds, often with suet added as an extra treat. It is said that 'no peasant would sit down to Christmas dinner until the birds had been provided for. De're hoping this will be a warm, happy holiday . . . filled with lots of cheer!
