NOVEMBER 20, I974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 5 CREDIT UNION MARKS 25 YEARS On Friday, November I5th, the Terrace Bay Community Credit Union held their twenty-sixth Annual Meeting at the Masonic Hall, Terrace Bay This occasion marking 25 years of continuous service to the membership brought out town dig- nitaries to celebrate with the membership this auspicious occasion. Mr. Cliff O'Brien, Field Representative of the Ontario Credit Union League, Thunder Bay, 'presented a placque from the league. Mr. Cal Claypole Representative from the Cuna Mutual Insurance Society presented a placcue from Cuna Mutual, the credit union's own Company . Mr. Harry Miles, past president cf the Lake- head and District Credit Union's Chapter, brou- ght greetings. Mr. Miles was instrumental in forming our credit union. The Credit Union further honoured past pres- ident and retiring Board of Directors member, Mr. Ab Farrow with chairman, Mr. Joe Kennedy presenting Mr. Farrow with a gift on behalf of the officers and membership. At this meeting the membership approved the following Board recommendations. I) To pay in- terest dividend on share savings accounts of 7% 2) To pay interest dividend on Deposit Accounts Insurance of 9%. 3) Not to send representation to the 0.C.U.L." "Convention in 1975. In election of officers, Al Allen, Board Secretary was re-elected for a three year term Mr. Carman Brant and Mr. Angus Drexler where elected for three year terms; and Mr. Tom Long was elected to the Credit Committee for a thr- ee year term. } Messages of congratulations were received and read at the meeting from Cuna Mutual Head Office. Marathon Community Credit Union acc- ompanied their congratulatory message with a beautiful floral arrangement. After the meeting the membership enjoyed dancing and a buffet dinner.
