COPY TERRACE BAY COUNCIL QUOTES The Township Council meeting held last Tues- day evening, was opened with a brief presenta- tion from Lakeshore Community T.V. representa- tives, Mr. Dale Evoy and Mr. Ron MacIntosh. These gentlemen came to Council to introduce the company and outline future T.V. plans for the area (see article re T.V. plans in this issue). After hearing the brief, Council fully endorsed their plans and will pPrepare a letter to be sent to government officials. A proposed plan of subdivision re cottage lots, Terrace Bay, on Lake Superior was presen- ted for Council's approval with Mr. Carl Gorham present to answer questions. Mr. Gorham stressed to council the cottagers were requesting no further services from the town, other than those already being received - these being fire and police. Council moved that this plan of subdivision be accepted and will now have it processed through the proper channels for acceptance. Council proceeded with the regular meeting and passed the minutes of the previous meeting. Lengthy correspondence first dealt with a letter from the Ministry of Industry and Tour- ism re North of Superior Travel Association. Reeve Bray highlighted on this matter, saying the Chamber of Commerce is Presently waiting for further information on this Travel Associa- tion. Barry and Marjorie Stephen wrote council of their concern re the Library staff and its fun- ding. They stated an increase of staff and funding should be examined due to the town's expected increased expansion. Council will acknowledge the letter and forward it to the Library Board. continvedipage' 2 ...... 0.5% CONFEDERATION COLLEGE COMMUNITY RADIO Radio and Television Arts students of Con- federation College have begun daily program- ming on Cable 2 through the facilities of MacLean-Hunter Cable T.V. The station, call- ed C.C.C.R. (Confederation College Community Radio) will serve as a training ground for 2nd year students in the Radio Television Arts Program. Programming will be carried from 4:00 D.m, to I2:00 midnight each day and will offer a variety of material not carried by normal broadcasting outfits. Also included will be ethnic programming and local artists perform- ing in concert. Other tentative plans include a nightly I-hour rock music program, weekly dramatiza- tions of children's stories, panel discuss--- ions on social issues, non-credit courses by radio, and the return of the network radio series "The Shadow" to be heard weekly. Prior to 4:00 p.m. daily, CKPR-FM program- ming will be carried on Cable 2. It is hoped that the station will not only provide the students with actual on-air ex- perience but will also act as a bridge between the community and the College. LODGING HOUSE INVESTIGATED A regular meeting of the Thunder Bay Dis- trict Health Unit Board of Health was held on November I, I974 at the Health Unit.
