REMEMBRANCE DAY Remembrance Day will be observed by the Terrace Bay Legion on Saturday, November 9th. Cenotaph ceremonies will be held at II a.m: A dinner and dance will be held in the Legion Hall. Tickets for this are on sale at the Legion. The local Branch have been fortunate to obtain Mr. Jack Stokes, MLA, as the dinner guest speaker. Legion members get your tickets for the dinner and dance now. TERRACE BAY LADIES CURLING CLUB The semi-annual meeting of the Ladies Cur- ling Club was held in the curling lounge October 22nd with approximately 35 ladies present. Various reports were read. The Ontario Winter Games are to be held in Thunder Bay and | they have invited junior curlers under I9 to : take part. With the District Playdowns being held in Red Rock this year it is hoped we can interest some young curlers to participate. This year Terrace Bay is hosting the Senior Ladies Zone playdowns. The president introduced the various comm- ittee chairmans and encouraged the ladies to give any suggestions or help. Barb Hopper then presented the club champ- ionship pins to Mary Hales Rink of Rhea Beau- lieu, Barb Wise and Joyce Mercier. Some" important dates to mark on your calen- dar are: Christmas Party - December I4th. New Years Party - December 3Ist.; Sweetheart Bonspiel - February I5th, I975; St. Patrick's "Party - March I5th, I975; Ladies Bonspiel - E March 21st, 22nd and 23rd, I975; Curling Wind- up, April 26th, 1975. : 3 Discussion took place on choosing of rinks and after a secret ballot vote it was decided to choose your own rink. The type of play will depend on how many rinks there are. The dues will remain at $20.00 unless the mer request an increase. Everyone was in favour of the buzzer ringing at five to seven with everyone on the ice ready to curl. 3 Curling will be played by the point system =¢ - one point per end scored; no points for blank' ends; two points for a win; five points to a team who has a game defaulted to them. 3 The championship games in playoff situations' will not count points just straight win or loss The meeting adjourned with a lunch served. It looks like a good year for curling ladies so get your names in to the draw committee.
