OCTOBER 30, 1974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I9 GARON-SCOTT VOWS EXCHANGED Bronze, yellow and white mums adnorned St. Andrews United Church Schreiber, on Saturday, September 28th, I974 when Maureen Sharon Scott and Louis Alain Garon exchanged their wedding VOWS . Sharon is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Scott, Jr. of Schreiber, and Louis is th! the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edouard Garon of Rim- ouski, Quebec. Reverend Christopher Mather officiated in the double ring ceremony. The solist was Mr. Alain Zborowski, assisted by Mrs. Wendy Martin at the organ. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white nylon crepe, featuring a high neckline trimmed in lace and long sleeves which were fitted closing with self covered buttons and edged with matching lace. A full length train fell from the em- pire waist. The headpiece of seed pearls and embroidered lace held the bouffant shoulder length veil with another tier falling softly to form a train which was also edged in white lace. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of deep yellow roses interspersed with White Heather and red tartan ribbon brought from Scotland by her aunt for the occasion. The bride's younger brother Colin, the ring -bearer was dressed similar to the Bride's father in the traditional kilt of Scotland. They both wore Princess Beatrice Tarten kilts with matching short black jackets, and silver accessories. The Maid of Honour, was Mrs. Debbie Schmie- dchen and Bridesmaid was Mrs. Marielle Garon (sister-in-law of the groom). Miss Katrina Duncan (bride's cousin) who travelled from Scotland for the.wedding was the flower girl. All werc gowned alike in pale blue polyester knit gowns. Their fitted gowns featured em- pire waists, stretch knit bodices, and short puffy sleeves. They wore white picture hats and carried cascade bouquets of bright yellow mums. The flower girl carried a basket of yellow mums. : The best man was Lucien Garon (grooms bro- ther) and the usher was Keith Scott Jr. Jr. (brother of the bride). At a dinner held in the Voyageur Restaurant Schreiber, the bride's brother Keith, was Master of Ceremonies. Grace was said by Rev. Mather, and the toast to the bride given by the bride's 'adopted uncle' Mr. Bert Anderson of Thunder Bay. The bride's cake and table were made and arranged by Mrs. Gladys Hamilton. Several telegrams were read from relatives in Tayport, Dundee and Glasgow, Scotland. At a reception and dance held in the Town Hall, the bride's mother received wearing a sleeveless pink floral chiffon gown with mat- ching floor length coat. She wore a corsage of miniature champagne rosebuds. The groom's mother also received wearing an emerald green gown with black accessories. She wore a cor- sage of pink mums. For a two-week honeymoon to Eastern Ontario and Quebec the bride donned a pale blue pant suit with black accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. Prior to her marriage the bride was honour- ed at a community shower held at the Anglican Church Hall and at a surprise party arranged by her friends at the Kimberly-Clark office in Terrace Bay. The groom was honoured at a stag held in the Town Hall. The newlyweds are now residing at 263 Keno- gami Road in Terrace Bay. Out of town guests included Mr. Keith Scott, Sr. of stirling, Scotland; Mrs. R. Duncan and Katrina of Tayport, Fife, Scotland; Mr. and Mrs. E. Garon, Rimouski, Quebec; Mr. & Mrs. C. Garon, Quebec City; Miss Louiselle Garon, Val d'or; Rev. and Mrs. Inshaw, Onaping, Ontario; Mr. & Mrs. R. Dietrich, Kitchener; Miss Doris Lehto, Janice Wiznuk and Carson Fischer, Sault Ste.
