Rena highlighted on the fact that we are getting a new hospital for the area. tH The original draft plan was for an I8 bed hospital, but now with mill expansion, the board is pushing for 25 beds. The hospital and all the health care fac- ilities - emergency - out-patients, pharmacy, dental office, doctors office, etc. will be located on 4 to 6 acres of land, approximately where the present McCausland Hospital is situated. Rena said this land was donated by Kimberly Clark when the hospital was turned into a public hospital. The cost for the area, which must be rais- ed by the Board is $300,000. - 1/6th of the total cost. The government pays the other 5/6ths after the Board raises it's funds. Tentative date for starting is I976 but Rena hopes to raise enough money to start in 1975, The Board has done much work already in contacting large institutes to raise money. Rena McAdam and Joe Figliomeni attended the Kinsmen meeting last Thursday to outline the project and the need for financial support from all organizations. The Board hopes to attend many organizational meetings of this nature to keep them informed and receive their support. People may begin to tire of hearing this and that is for the hospital - mainly because we have never had to support such a large project of this nature before - we've been spoiled. continued page 2 i... sew vivies
