Rhodes, today announced propos- ed changes in the Ontario Driver's Licence which will provide the means for a licensed driver to make an anatomical gift statement allowing transplantation of human organs imm- ediately after death. The licence form is being redesigned to in- clude a legal document that can remain attach- ed to the licence indicating the wishes.of the driver. There will be sufficient space for the propsective donor to sign and have the declaration witnessed. If the driver does not wish to donate his organs after death, or changes his mind after signing the form, he need merely detach and destroy the organ donor section of the licence It is expected the new form will be avail- able in mid-1975 after the present supply of licences have been exhuasted. Health Minister Frank S. Miller announced the establishment of the Thunder Bay District Health Council, to serve the Thunder Bay District. CRIME PREVENTION FOR COTTAGERS "rphis is the time of the year when most people close their cottages for the winter. The Community Services Branch Schreiber Detach- ment Ontario Provincial Police Would like to remind you of a few security questions that could help prevent your cottage from being bro- ken into during the winter months. I. Have you removed as many of your portable valuables as possible? 2. Could you positively identify your property by some type of identifiable mark? 3. Are the windows and doors secured, prefer- ably covered with shutters or some other solid material? 4. Have you checked your locking devices, are they of good quality, in good repair and prop- erly installed? 5. Are you going to check your cottage during the winter? If your cottage appears to be broken into, don't touch, move or wander about the scene, this only destroys evidence needed by the Police to apprehend the culprit. 6. Have you formed a cottage association, a close relationship with a neighbour and arran-= ged to check each other's property when in the area? No cottage can be completely burglar-proof. You can however, improve security to a point where a burglar will consider the risk of de- tection outweighs his potential gain.
