TO LEGION #223 After summer recess the first meeting of the ladies auxiliary to the Legion branch 223 was held on September 30th with 23 members pre- sent. Mrs. Ev Knauff was accepted as a new member and initiated. : Minutes of the last meeting in June were read and the report from the treasurer followed The men's branch will cater to the auxiliary birthday party on Saturday, October I9th. A letter from the men's branch was read re- questing that no tables be set up on Friday evenings for any functions being held on Satur- day. correspondence included serval thank you notes and cards, also a report on the District meeting held at Nipigon in March. Reports from the various conveners were read. Y. Swirhin will replace D. Clancy on the nominating committee as Dean will be away on vacation. The afghan donated by M. Duriez will be drawn at the Remembrance Day Tea. A motion was passed that anyone having a (self-serve wedding) must pay for the laundry of table linen. A hand of applause was given to J.
