TERRACE BAY COUNCIL QUOTES Township Council met last Tuesday evening when Mr. Ken MacLeod, Chairman of the Library Board, was present to discuss the Library's wage scale. After hearing from Mr. MacLeod, council continued on to pass the minutes of the prev- ious meeting held September IOth. Business arising from these minutes led to a discussion of a letter from Broadcasting Music Inc. of the United States stating a fee of $20.00 must be paid by the Recreation Cen- tre for playing music in the arena. Since this information was very vague, it will be filed for the present time. Correspondence from Wardrop and Associates re-the town planning study brought Council up to date on the progress so far. Consul- tants are presently working jointly with all concerned including the Ministry of Housing and Kimberly-Clark on the proposed.expansion of town facilities. Discussions to date in- dicate a preliminary plan of the proposed area to be expanded will be received by coun- cil by September 30th. Two more requests were received for lots on Phase 4 of Lakeview Drive, and these will be answered in the same way as all previous inquiries. Council was notified of the cancellation of the Clerks and Treasurers meeting to be held in Fort Frances. A letter from the New Province Committee for Northern Ontario informed Council of this committees petition being circulated demand- ing a vote for northerners on the question of a new province.
