PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS SEPTEMBER 25, 1974 ONTARIO UNIVERSITY LIAISON OFFICERS' VISIT On Wednesday, September 18th, 1974, twenty- three representatives from sixteen universities in all parts of the province visited Lake Sup- erior High School. In order to accommodate students at both Schreiber and Terrace Bay Campi, the representatives were divided into two groups. SCHREIBER CAMPUS I. Ministry of Colleges & Un- iversities; 2. Guelph; 3. Queens; 4. Laurentian 5. Windsor; 6. R.M.C.; 7. Toronto; 8. Waterloo; 9. Western; IO. Lakehead; II. York. TERRACE BAY CAMPUS I. Ministry of Colleges & Universities; 2. Brock; 3. Carleton; 4. Lake- head; 5. McMaster; 6. Armed Forces Recruiting; 7. Ryerson; 8. Waterloo; 9. Laurentian; IO: Western; II. Wilfrid Laurier. The students had the opportunity of meeting with the three representatives to discuss their future career plans. The Lake Superior High School visit is part of a fifteen week visitation program to Ontario Secondary Schoo- 1s to assist senior students to clarify pro- grams, courses, and future employment opportun- ities. The next liaison program in our area will be held in September, I976. TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT A total of twenty-four occurrences were reported as being investigated by members of the Terrace Bay Police Department during the past week. 3 One accident occurred involving two vehicles with damage estimated at $450.00. A charge of "Following too close" was laid. Three warnings were issued to juveniles for discharging firearms within the townsite and one charge under the Game and Fish Act for hunting without a license. Four charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act. Three motor vehicles were safety checked with warnings being issued in each case. COURT NEWS The regular sitting of Provincial Court was 3 held last Tuesday with Judge R. Mitchell pre- : siding. Theotimes Gionet and Joseph Desaulniers (Tr.) ges of possession of stolen property. John Curtis Cotton pleaded guilty to possess --ion of a narcotic drug and was sentenced to six months probation.
