George Luscombe's production of TEN LOST YEARS, with original songs and music by Cedric Smith (of Perth County Conspiracy Does Not Ex- ist fame) has been applauded by thousands, while winning the high regard of every critic who has seen it. Time Magazine calls it "Pow- erful and moving...a triumphant piece." The Toronto Star said "...most beautiful indeed... a spellbinding human document...a haunting kind} of musical theatre, funny, insinuating, touch- ing." "Absolutely marvelous, everything about it...", said Robin Phillips, the new Artistic Director of the Stratford Festival. "...I cried buckets and I laughed a lot." "Remarka- ble", said the Ottawa Citizen. TEN LOST YEARS is something remarkable in- deed. It is not simply beautiful theatre well crafted. It is very special theatre. Theatre that tells us about ourselves and out past as it entertains us and touches our hearts. TEN LOST YEARS is humorous, sad, moving and beau- tiful. A multitude of Canadians endured or witness- ed the "dirty thirties" with its unemployment, welfare, the endless search for work, the str- uggle for the family's fare, the beggar at the door and the parched cruelty of the prairies. To this day, there are none among us not in some way touched by the Great Canadian Depress- ion. continued next column In TEN LOST YEARS the actors become real live human beings, who speak to us directly of an important stage in our past. You will not easily forget this superb pro- duction. Its beauty will haunt you long after it has left your town or city. Don't miss TEN LOST YEAR! - Refer to page 5 ... for further details 4 : INFORMATION ONTARIO: by Bev Young, Northern Affairs Officer Recently a literature display was erected in the lobby of the Terrace Bay Municipal Off- ice.
