'BOON FUNERAL The funeral of the late Malcolm Boon, whose death occurred in Thunder Bay on September I4, was conducted in the King Funeral Home in Sch- reiber on September I8th, by the Rev. Peter McKague of Terrace Bay. The service was under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch I09, led by James Crook, president and L.V. Bourke, secretary- treasurer, other members present including Bor- den Ross, George McCouan, Edwin Nicol, Ambrose McGrath, Bill Madge and Ivan Martin. Pall bearers were Gerry Fischer, Pat Bolan, Wally Richardson, Ed Boon (nephew), Jack Moore (nephew) and Jim Gelaty (stepson). Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mr. Boon, who was 5I years of age, was born and raised in. Schreiber, and employed with CPR until 1968, except for his service overseas from I940 to 1945 with the 8th RECCE. He is survived by his wife Alice, four sons, Stewart, Carl, Jim and Rick, two brothers Charlie in Schreiber and Frank in Thunder Bay, two sisters Margaret (Mrs. F. McKenna) and Della (Mrs. C. Moore) both of Schreiber. He was predeceased by two brothers, Alf. and Alvin and his parents. Among those attending the service from out of town were Mrs. Malcolm H. Boon, Rick and Jim Gelaty, Miss Linda Gibson, Ivan McLeod, Mrs. F. 0. Boon, Thunder Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Al Regis, Terrace Bay. = CHURCH AUXILIARY HONOURS MRS. SEPPALA The Ladies of Rossport Union Church held a pot luck supper at Wieben's Resort, Pays Plat on September I3th. Mrs. E. Ibey the secretary, welcomed six members and two visitors, and pre- sented Mrs. Esther Seppala with a bouquet of flowers and a lamp for her new home, to show appreciation for the services rendered to the Union Church for numerous years by the Rossport Inn. A short meeting followed at which minutes and financial report were accepted. Discussion was held on Cemetery and the Inspector of Cem- eteries. This was filed for future discussion. The ladies thanked Mrs. Wieben for her hos= pitality and the lovely table decorations. Tea and cake was served and ended a very pleasant evening. The combined Anglican and United Church Sunday school has resumed its classes again, meeting at 10 a.m. Sunday in the Anglican Church from where the classes are divided fo use each Church Hall. The Schreiber Figure Skating Club will hol registration on Saturday, September 28th from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Anglican Church basement. Fee: - $20.00 per person, payable on reg- istration. I FIGURE SKATING CLUB REGISTRATION 4 COME AND GO SHOWER A Come and Go Shower in honour of Mrs. Andy McFall (nee Rosemary McParland) will be held Saturday, September 28th from 8 to'I0 r p.m. in the Anglican Church basement, Schrei- ber. Everyone is welcome to attend. NOTICE The Terrace Bay Art Club is meeting again this week for their Fall season. Bring your paints & supplies to the Rec. - Centre on Thursday, September 26th at 8 P.M.
