Board Meeting - cont'd from page 2 Three applications were approved by the board for admittance when space is available. Considerable time was spent discussing the fire alarm system. The Present system as plan -ned is not satisfactory. The board directed that changes be made. The board also decided that panic hardware be installed on the front door of Birchwood. This had not been included with present plans. The meeting also dealt with the letter re- ceived from Oliver Municipality questioning the wisdom of sending seven delegates to the Homes for the Aged Convention. This letter was supported by three other municipalities. The Administrator had already replied to all municipalities informing them of the training sessions that were now incorporated into the convention and these sessions were valuable to both board members and staff. =a copy of the seminar and workshops on the Program were also included. The board felt the letter of explan --ation fully covered the inquiry made. The present board are responsible to draw up guidelines and constitution which will assist the municipal appointees that are to be appointed on to the. District Board. Regula- tions relating to these appointments are still being formulated. ] Next meeting will be held September 20th. INFORMATION ONTARIO =By Bev Young . This week I would like to discuss OHIP - the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. At holiday time when some of us travel, sickness or injury is the least of our thoughts. Unfortunately some of us have been in that situation when we have had to seek medical help. Hopefully very few people have had to alter their holidays because they have fallen Prey to sickness. However, one comfort is that OHIP will pay for medical and hospital services for an OHIP sub- scriber or dependents anywhere in the world. Firstly one should consider that primarily there are two basic health services - medical care and hospital care. To accommodate them OHIP has two claims divisions. Medical claims are processed in several centres across the province and in most cases handle claims for services provided in that geographic area. Claims are processed in Thunder Bay for North- western Ontario as well as for Duluth, Roches- ter and Manitoba. Hospital claims are processed from one off- ice in Toronto. Claims for medical services are paid at the rate of 90% of the Ontario Medical Fee Sched- ule. continued page 4 STRAND THEATRE TERRACE BAY -- ONTARIO -- TELEPHONE 825-- 3771 SHOW TIMES - MONDAY-THURSDAY 8:00 P.M.
