JULY 24, I974 GIONET-DESAULNIERS VOWS EXCHANGED Wedding vows were exchanged between Dawn Carolyn Desaulniers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Desaulniers and Theotimes Oscar Gionet son of Mr. and Mrs. Aimes Gionet of Manitou- wadge on Saturday, June 8th at 2:30 p.m. in St. Martin of Tours Church, Terrace Bay. Reverend A. Greengrass officiated at the ceremony. Mrs. Larson, soloist was accompan- ied by Celine Landry at the organ and Patrick Pineault played the guitar. The altar of the Church was decorated with Shasta Daisies and ribbons lined the pews. Altar boys were Randy Fournier and Willy Pineault. ; The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father.. She-was lovely in a white floor length gown of flock nylon over taffeta. The empire waist line, high neckline and long' tight sleeves were all trimmed with daisies. A bouffant headpiece of falling daisies held the floor length veil. She carried a bouquet of white and yellow daisies. Maid of Honour, Tequila Williams, Brides maid Lorrelie Desaulniers (sister of the bride and Flower Girl Tina Desaulniers (cousin of the bride) were gowned alike in floor length dresses styled similar to the bride's, lilac in colour with daisy trim. They wore lace trimmed white floppy hats and carried bouquets of Shasta Daisies. The Best Man was Ted Sheare and guests were ushered into the Church by Pat Bourguignon. At a reception held in the Moose Hall, the Toast to the Bride was made by Joe Marcella who also acted as M.C. for the evening. The bride's mother received in a two tone TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I5 floor length gown with silver top and lilac skirt. She wore a lilac carnation. The groom's mother received wearing a floor length yellow floral gown and carnation cor- sage. The guest book was circulated by Isle and Lona Smith. The wedding cake set on a lace covered round table was made and cut by Mrs. Mike Saley. Mesdames Ann Stachiw, Kay Long, Paige Legacy, Mary Thmatko and Sadie Benko replen- ished in the kitchen and Janet Roberts, Linda Ray, Sharon Dobush, Isle Smith, Sheena Cald- well and Linda Dejonghe were servitors. Mrs. Audrey Smith was Dining Room Hostess. The bride was entertained prior to her marriage at a shower hosted by Mrs. Audrey Smith in her home. Co-hostesses were Barb Payette, May Caldwell and Doris Chopty and tea was served by Minnie Woodruff and Nova McBride. A shower in the Church Hall was hosted by Debbie Vienneau, Tequila Williams, and Lorrelie Desaulniers. : For travelling the bride donned a gold and white checked dress with solid gold accenting the V-neckline collar and sleeves.
