BROWNIE FLY-UP WIND-UP It was Fly-up Wind~up time for the Guides and Brownies recently when the First Terrace Bay Pack held a supper meeting in the Community Church hall, to wind up a very busy season. The lovely three course meal, consisting of soup, sandwiches and delicious desserts was all prepared by the Golden Hands girls, while the Golden Bar girls made an excellent job of sett- ing tables and preparing drinks for everyone. It was a happy time for all who participated and everyone joined in to sing a medley of songs for Pow-wow to close the evening. Fly-up time came at the end of the season and ten Brownies flew up to Guides in a wind-up get-together on June 24th, at the Scout Hall. Commissioner Connie Cvitkovich assisted Brown Owls Mrs. Marilyn Saranpaa and Miss Theresa Falzetta in presenting their certifi- cates and wings to Ist Pack Corinne Cotton, Heather Nugent, Jackie Rogers, Anita Laintinen and Paulette Theriault. 2nd Pack Brownies fly- ing up were Susan May, Laura and Lorna Zwaresh, Mona Dakin and Carol Moore. Joanne McBride was enrolled into Rangers by Captain Pam Jones. Many mothers and fathers were present at the ceremonies; following the Brownie Ring and Guide Horseshoe, everyone moved outside to en- joy a weiner roast and campfire. Campfire was led by Ranger Carla Crockford and a mixed sel- ection of songs were sung to add to the excit- ement of the fly-up. The highlight of the evening was a huge Surprise cake, made by Mrs. M. Saranpaa in honour of three Brownies and I Guide who are leaving Terrace Bay. Tracey Bulawka will be going to Dryden, Joan Costall to Nipigon, and Jackie Rogers and Kelly Rogers are moving to Edgeley, Sask. The Rangers and Mrs. Myrtle McBride were kept busy handing out' Kool-aid and treats around the campfire, courtesy of the local Association. Brownie and Guide Taps ended an enjoyable evening, with the fly-up and wind-up and fare- wells, although many groups will be getting together for camping during the summer months.
