This Museumobile demonstrates drama- tically the history of Ontario and the vital role fossils play in the documentation of past events. ; The third Museumobile "Man in Ontario - the first I2,000 years" is the story, in broadest terms, of man from the time he first arrived in Ontario. Artifacts - tools and implements, and printed material outline the story from the Paleo Indians, who followed the retreat of the glacial ice into Ontario some I2,000 to I3,000 years ago, through the Historic or Fur Trade period, about I600. The Royal Ontario Museum's Museumobiles are designed so that they may be driven into a community, the door opened and the Museum, or . a part of it, is there ready to be viewed. They had the privilege of hosting the only district I4 annual meeting ever held anywhere other than Thunder Bay. It was a great success due to the dedicated efforts of the Rainy River mem- bers. ; Sixty-six people registered. Seven of the eight societies in district I4 had from 2 to I0 or more representatives present. The host society, Rainy River was out in full force to lend encouragement and support to its officers and committees. Some delegates came as far as 800 miles round trip. This spells out real co -operation and interest.. At this meeting, Jim Hammond took the chair to hold nominations for a new district direct- or. Mr. Albert Farrow of Terrace Bay was el- ected by acclamation.
