HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING The McCausland Hospital Board of Governors held a regular meeting on-June I8, I974 in the Terrace Bay Municipal Office. The minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as circulat- ed. Jan McEwen, Chairman Development Committee read the minutes of their last meeting. They will await further word from Dr. Baldwin, Minis try of Health, before proceeding with their planning for a new health facility. Bernie McCracken reported that the Finance Committee has worked with the Executive Commit- tee on proposed revisions to the I974 Budget which was on the agenda under new business. A Maintenance Committee inspection of the hospital took place on June 5, I974; Rena Mc- Adam read the decisions taken and areas to be investigated by this committee with the assis- tance of the Administrator and Maintenance Co- Ordinator (part-time). A resolution was passed to purchase a laundry dryer and a stand-by sump pump. Don Stewart reported on attempts to secure a more exact price estimate for a complete sprinkler system. A resolution was passed that Dow Darling Plumbing & Heating Co. conduct a survey of the hospital to determine an exact cost quotation for a sprinkler system. ! Rena McAdam gave a summary of the most recent heating agreement negotiation meeting; it is expected that this matter will be concluded very shortly. Under correspondence, letters were read from Frank Miller, Ministry of Health and Jack Stok- es, MLA. Accounts for May, I974 in the total amount of $24,386.66 were passed for payment. Joan Nugent, President, Auxiliary to the McCausland Hospital announced approval of a $I432 donation for the purchase of a new ECG machine and also presented a report on the - Volunteer Bervices Conference she and Marg Gander attended in Thunder Bay. There will be no Auxiliary meetings in July and August. Under new business, a resolution was pass- ed to propose revisions to the I974 Approved Budget. The Finance-Executive Committees will complete the revisions and forward to the Min- istry of Health as soon as possible. Dorothy Rummery proposed that the hospital consider the possibility of changing the am=- bulance entrance to the west side entrance. The Administrator will review the matter and report back to the Board. Bruce Tilbury suggested that the hospital hold a new car raffle; the matter will be turned over to the Finance Committee for fur- ther consideration. The next regular meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, July I6, I974 in the basement of Schreiber Municipal Building. The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p.m. Visiting Nacy Marquis over the holidays are her two Granddaughters Valerie Marquis from Duncan, B.C. and Sheila Uschenko from Sault Ste.
