I7 NO. 26 JULY 4, I974 20¢ PER COPY TERRACE BAY COUNCIL QUOTES Reeve Roy Bray presided for the township council regular meeting last Tuesday when councillors Brassard and Megraw approved the minutes of the previous regular meeting. Correspondence began with a letter being received from the Terrace Bay Gun Club reques- ting Council approval of the use of a sand pit as a rifle range. Approval in principal was given with Council insisting all regulations for safety be followed. Roy Keller wrote advising Council of his interest in purchasing Lot 584, Lakeview Drive This will be filed with all other applications until Council set their policy for the Phase 4 extension and will be contacted according to dates of application. A letter from the Ministry of Housing notified Council of a meeting with the Commit- tees of Adjustment to be held June 26th. Council will reply to this letter and ask to have a little more advance notice. No one was able to attend on such short notice. A letter requesting a representative attend a Civic Banquet for Young Voyageurs on July I0th was read and Reeve Bray will attend to extend an official welcome. The Police Department report submitted by Police Chief Dave Barnett was read. Under new business council agreed to purch- ase the dental equipment from Dr. McDonald. This is basicly to keep the door open for a future dentist. A schedule of new hydro rates was recommen- ded by Ontario Hydro. On Friday, June 2Ist the Schreiber Kinsmen treated their wives, members of the Club, to a German style meal in the the senior citizens home in Terrace twenty-eight Kinettes sat down to a dinner cooked and graciously served by the men. Mr. Vibert was present to accept an eight hundred dollar cheque, the first donation to- wards the Century Bath that is being installed in Birchwood Terrace.
