PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS APRIL 3, I974 NOTICE OF MOTION THE FOLLOWING MOTION WILL BE PLACED ON THE AGENDA OF THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MCCAUSLAND HOSPITAL CORPORATION: BE IT RESOLVED that the following By- Law be confirmed by the membership: BY-LAW NO. 3 A by-law amending the Hospital by-laws of The McCausland Hospital BE IT ENACTED as a by-law of The McCausland Hospital as follows: The Hospital by-laws of The McCausland Hospital be and the same are hereby amended by deleting subparagraph (a) of paragraph 3 of Section 3 thereof. Passed by the Board of Governors and sealed with the corporate seal this 17th day.of July, '1973. Sports Slants = continued Here's how a Montreal paper reported the inci-. dent: "Larose suffered a hairline fracture of the ankle when Bob (Battleship) Kelly approach- ed his leg like a woodsman attacking a tree, giving him a two-handed swinging shot. Larose went down in obvious pain and was helped off the ice. As so often happens this season (and get this), there was no attempt by ANY Canad- ien to retaliated against Kelly." If someone would have done something like this to a Philadelphia Flyers player, the whole bench would have cleared and a-near-riot probably would have followed. Now you know what John Ferguson was talking about in last week's col- umn, about the Canadiens lacking guts, etc.... Bobby Hull, at this writing, had 48 goals. He's probably got 50 or more by now, which would give him his seventh 50-goal season in pro hockey. You may have noticed that his team, Winnipeg Jets of the WHA, weren't doing much winning a few weeks ago. That's probably because Bobby wasn't playing. He took himself out of four or five games because of 'stomach ulcers'. It's no wonder. Coaching and playing 30 minutes a game would give anybody ulcers. Don't blame Hull for handing the coaching reins over to his assistant, Nick Mickoski, for the balance of the season ... ) I have to laugh at Phil Esposito. He says he never set any goals for himself. "I did- n't care about scoring 50, 60 or 75 goals," he said on national TV recently, "the only thing I care about is helping Boston finish first and winning the.Stanley Cup." Bruin coach Bep Guidolin, commenting about Esposito playing 25-30 minutes a game all season, es- pecially the latter part of the schedule, re- marked: ."I play him because he asks me to play him that much." If he wasn't after a record- breaking scoring year, Esposito wouldn't beg to play all that hockey. LEGION BOWLING Final Standings for the 73/74 season: Bombardiers 80; Spitfires 76%;.
