APRIL 3, I974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 5 STORK SHOWER HONOURS WANDA AULENBACK A Come and Go Stork Shower was held in the Community Church hall on Friday evening, Mar- ch 29th, in honour of Mrs. 'Wanda Aulenback. After her arrival at the hall, her husband arrived and pinned a lovely corsage on her. Just inside the door, a large stork design- ed by Pam Jones, greeted guests. Individual tables held a flower centerpiece, with a small stork perched on it. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Isobel Delaronde, assisted by Mrs. May Mallais and Mrs. Dorothy Plourde. Mrs. Caroline Pope recorded the gifts ,in a Baby Book. Mrs. Aulenback was the recipient of many lovely gifts. CHURCH HOSTS DO-NUT HOLE A very successful Doughnut and Coffee party held in the Do-nut Hole, otherwise known as the Community Church hall, was convened by Mrs. Helen Brooks, assisted by many members of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church, Friday morning from IO to II:30 a.m. Doughnuts, made on the spot, were the fea- ture attraction, and numerous orders far ex--- ceeded the supply, so that another doughnut fry is being held Monday morning. H Tables were decorated in a suitable fash- ion by the artistry of Mrs. Gertrude Soughton. PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE ENJOYED BY ALL The Photography Course, sponsored by the Recreation Committee in conjunction with Con=- federation College has concluded, with some of us a little wiser and some a lot wiser about the mysteries of the art of photography. All are agreed that Dave Barnett was an ex- cellent teacher, displaying utmost patience as he explained the intricacies of taking a film out of the camera, getting it into a daylight tank, by learning to wind it on a spool in complete and utter darkness. We learned about developing fluid, fixers, washers, dryers and how important timing is in all these procedures. From the camera to the finished product, learning to use an enlarger was an education in itself. It was most exciting to flick a switch, after trying to remember to put the paper in the proper place, shiny side up, and dash from there to the developing tray cont'd page 6 STRAND THEATRE TERRACE BAY PHONE 825-3771 SHOW TIMES MONDAY - THURSDAY 8:00 P.M.
