Marie on March I9 was conducted in -St. And- rew's United Church in Schreiber on March 22 by Rev. Peter McKague. Mrs. Justin Martin was the organist. The honourary pall bearers were Joe Campbell, George Birch, Tommy Bolan and Arthur Moorey. Active bearers were Arnold Almos, Don Almos, Rolly Stortini, Roy White, George A. Scott and Frank McKenna. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mr. Cock was predeceased by his wife Jess- ie in April I967. His immediate survivors are two sons, Bill and Ray of Schreiber, six grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. E. MacDonald of Burlington. In I93I he came to Jackfish as an operator for the C.P.R. when their coal dock operation made it a thriving community. He left there in I950 for Bigwood, where he was the stat- ion agent, was transferred from there to Desbarats, and from there to Marathon, where he remained until his retirement in I964. Then he moved to Bruce Mines where he took an active part in the community, being elected several times to the town council, and at the time of his death, curator of the Bruce Mines Museum which he worked to organ- ize. Attending the funeral from out of town were granddaughters: Marilyn Cook, Hamilton; Deborah Cook, Sault Ste. Marie; Mr. and Mrs. John Donovan, Bruce Mines; and the following old Jackfish friends - Mr. and Mrs. John Stortini, Sault Ste. Marie; Mr. and Mrs. M. Shapiro, Mr. and Mrs. W. Andony, and Mrs. Ann McLeod, Thunder Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Almos, Mr. and Mrs. Don Almos, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Stortini, Mrs. Isobel Delaronde, Terrace Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Roy White, Mara- thon, Ont. BOONE: Mr. Alfred Edward Boone age 56 years of Ignace, Ontario, died Sunday, March IOth after a short illness. He was born¥and edu- cated in Schreiber, Ontario. : A veteran of World War II, he served over- seas with the RCAF and had the honour of earning the D.F.C. Medal. He was loaned to the R.A.F., serving in Russia for six months and was a member of the squadron which sank the Tirpitz, also a surviving member of the famed squadron known as the "Dam Busters". He moved to Ignace in I%24I and was in business there for 33 years, starting as a clerk and becoming manager and owner of Fair Way Stores at Ignace. An adherent of the vived by his wife Kathleen (nee McLeod) of Ignace; one son Robert, Thunder Bay; three brothers, Charles of Schreiber, and Frank and Malcolm of Thunder Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Della Moore and Mrs. Margaret McKenna both of Schreiber. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m., March I3th in Emmanual Anglican Church Ignace, with Rev. Todesco on the weekend en- route to ice fish at Sioux Narrows. Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Fletcher of Dalton visited Romeo Bouchard and family the past week before motoring to Thunder Bay to visit other relatives. Leona Goodchild and Laurie Mushquash have returned from Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Legault were weekend visitors in Thunder Bay with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. W. Schelling were also Lakehead vis- itors during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Peter King and family of Es- panola spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gerow and Mr. King's father, Adolph King who accompanied them home to Espanola.
