PAGE 18 TERRACE BAY NEWS MARCH 20, 1974 SKI CLUB NEWS The Club Championship races will be held this coming weekend with Slalom and Downhill races for all age groups. On Saturday the Junior events will be held starting at 2:00 p.m., and on Sunday the Intermediate & Senior events will take place at 2:00 p.m. Register at the Clubhouse. Regular skiing will take place on the backtrails only during the races. Saturday morning instructor classes and racing have now come to a conclusion for the season with the final session being held last Saturday, March I6th. The Ski Club Winter Carnival events were very successful with a good crowd on hand. Medal winners in the slalom competition were Carol Moore, Ann Stephen, Russ McRride and Bill Megraw Jr. In the ski dumping contest Kathy Osmar, Ann Stephen, George Moore and Bill Megraw Jr. were medal winners. Our "Hot Dog" skiing team put on an exciting demonstra- tion of freestyle skiing. Members of this team were Ann Stephen, Robert Vanderkam, Dan Moore and Bill Megraw Jr. The final event of the Carnival was the always delightful torch- light parade in which all club members took part. Congratulations to the members who worked hard on our float which placed 2nd in the Carnival parade and congratulations to Miss Terrace Bay Ski Club, Terry Paukstys, who was chosen Winter Carnival Queen! As promised in last week's News we will publish the last of the pictures taken during the Winter Carnival. These are of the Figure Skating Carnival and the Parade held Sunday.
