FEBRUARY 27, 1974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 9 COUPLE HONOURED ON SILVER ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Jack Yates were honoured on the occasion of their - Silver Anniversary at a party held in the Moose Hall on February 2nd. Alice and Jack were married in Thunder Bay on February Ist, I949. Many friends from Terrace Bay, Schreiber and Rossport gathered to congratulate the Yates' on their spec- ial evening. Alice and Jack were present- ed with a corsage and boutonniere prior to going to the hall. Planned by the fam- ily, Jackie Sopel, Betty Oksanen and Clarence Yates, they were assisted by Mrs. Clarice Lawrence, Alice's mother and Jean Fisher, Alice's sister. Mrs. Lawrence made the Anniversary cake which was suit- ably decorated by Mrs. L. Ginn. The Women of the Moose assisted in pre- paring and serving for the last year. You've earned it. It has developed a safety regulation under the Hazardous Products Acts to govern the selling, advertising and importing of hockey helmets. The effect is to ensure hockey helmets worn on the ice by over 750,000 youngsters in Cana- da will provide greater protection from injury Helmets approved by the regulations, which be- came effective on January I, have sturdier plastic shells to resist impacts and prevent puncturing.
