LADIES CURLING NEWS The Terrace Bay Ladies Curling Club held their Semi-Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 16th, in the large meeting room of the Recre- ation Centre. Tt was voted that Skips would choose their own rinks this season. Any curler who has not yet registered, please do so by phoning shirley Caron at 32I0 or Nancy Dupas-at 3776. Curling should get underway around the second week in November, with a night or two of practice curling before the regular sched- ule begins. Membership fees have been set this year at twenty dollars per lady curler; to be paid before the first scheduled game. Watch the News for further action in curling. Resources, the Honourable Leo Bernier, has announced that the Ministry will hold mineral education classes in Schreiber from October 22 to 27th inclusive. Classes will be held each evening from 7:00 to I0:00 p.m. in St. Andrew's United Church, 622 Winnipeg Avenue. Mr. E.B. Freeman, geological lecturer of the Ministry, will conduct the course. Sub- jects to be covered include elementary geology, rock and mineral identification, prospecting methods, claim staking, assessment work regu- lations, and information sources. Mining films will be shown and mineral samples will be distributed free of charge.
